Ingredients
Spinach -1 cup
Toor dhall - 1 cup
Tomato -1 medium sized
Onion -1 small
Turmeric powder - 1 tspn
For tempering
Mustard seeds - 1 tspn
Urad dhall - 1 tspn
Red chilies - 3
Salt to taste
Oil for tempering
Directions
In a pressure cook add the toor dhall, spinach and the tomato..Fill with water such that it covers all the ingredients..Add a pinch of turmeric powder and a little oil and cook until u get 3 whistles..
When the pressure in the cooker is completely released, open it and mash all the ingredients well...Add a pinch of salt..
In another vessel add oil,mustard seeds and urad dhall..Once they begin to splutter add the red chillies and onions and saute them for a minute or so..Once the onions turn translucent add the sauteed mixture to the cooked dhall-spinach mixture...
This tastes good with piping hot rice or chapathis..
