Methi leaves-1 bunch
Onion- 1 medium
Tomatoes - 2 small
Tamarind extract-half cup(diluted with water)
Fenugreek seeds(methi)-half tsp
Cuminseeds(jeera)- 1 tsp
Hing/Asafoetida - a pinch
Curry leaves-1 sprig
Chilli powder- 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Cooking oil - 1 1/2 tsp
Clean and chop the methi leaves roughly..Also chop the onions,tomato and garlic finely..Place a kadai and add the oil followed by mustard, methi, jeera and hing..Let them splutter and add curry leaves...
Then add the onions ,garlic .Saute them well till they give out nice aroma. Then add the tomatoes and methi leaves and saute them well. Now it is time to add the chilli powder and coriander powder and saute for 2 seconds.
Finally add the salt and tamarind extract and let them boil for 5 mins on medium heat.
Serve with rice or chapathi.
